My name is Marcel Votlucka. Let me tell you a bit about myself:

Languages and culture are my first love. As a native of Queens, New York – the most linguistically and culturally diverse county in the United States – it was only natural to migrate to the translation and localization field.

My career began as a project manager for translation companies, managing thousands of projects for banks, insurance companies, law firms, courts, ad agencies, and more. I built relationships with my clients while guiding them through complex and often challenging projects. Meanwhile, I started translating in my spare time as a way to enhance my foreign language skills. This soon became a rewarding second career. Since then, I am now an independent language professional serving LSPs, business, and nonprofits.

Indeed, you could say that “language is my life”, but when I’m not translating or consulting, I enjoy cooking, the outdoors, and the arts. I also enjoy travel and backpacking all over the world, and frequently visit Japan, Asia, Europe and other locales, relishing the chance to learn from other people and cultures – and picking up bits and pieces of other languages!
